ALD 5.0 - Final Video Project

My team, Michael, Derek, and Jason, are working on an informative commercial to promote the use of metal straws. We chose this topic because there is an overuse of plastic straws all to be polluted in our oceans. The message we intend to communicate to our audience is that reusing just one straw can make a huge difference. Our final video project showcases a little bit of almost everything learned in Digital Media. A few examples are, some text is visible to push information that needs to be focused on and audio mixing. Using these skills showcases an understanding and quality of the video.
When shooting the straw throwing scene the wind kept blowing them all over the place and since it is the beginning of summer the sun was beaming, leading to reshoots. The biggest roadblock was our schedules and how they didn't line up, but with communication, we planned who will take the camera and get certain things done. The BEST part about creating our video was working with my team, this is our second video working on each other with and I am so going to miss it. I had a great time and I hope I could work with them again. In our critique results, I agree with because what we got because we did great on our message and research.

ALD 1.0 - Digital Manipulation

This project is made up of three image compositing using editing techniques. Surrealism became a huge thing in the early twentieth century and aims at showing a dreamlike piece. My first concept is my sister sitting on my cats head chilling and looking at the camera. Second, is a photo of the sky, me and me with an umbrella, this is going to show me keeping myself stable. Third, is the four picture manipulation and it has my boyfriend sitting at a nature-filled poolside while the second him is having a great time in "nature" I added a bike, to make it more of a surrealist piece, to represent everyday things.

Hexadecimal colors are colors used for computing. The color information is used in RGB is used for onscreen and in CMYK is used in printing. Lossy is a copy in which you might lose some data when converted into JPEG. Lossless compression is a copy of what you have on a disc for example without changing the contents. They relate to the JPG, GIF, PNG, and RAW image formats by GIF and JPEG are in the lossy format while PNG and RAW are lossless formats. The complexity and size of digital files matter in relation to data storage limits because the colors and amount of detail in the image adds up to how much storage it will take up. The more complex and the bigger the image the more space it'll take up. Raster graphics is a rectangular grid of pixels (with color) and are used for most computer images such as JPEG, GIF, and PNG. Vector graphics are a makeup of mathematical demands to make lines and shapes to create a digital image in a two or three-dimensional space. Dithering and error diffusion can be used for creative effects in Photoshop by adding cool effects such as adding a texture or adding a pattern.

The relationship between technology and productivity impacts digital media because having a piece that people worked hard and patiently on to impact a technology-based world will make the piece outweigh the others. Creating a surrealist image without computers, digital cameras or photoshop for me would be using scissors, glue and newspapers and magazines. The digital example would look more realistic. After my critique, I felt happy because it was just an idea until I made it happen. If and when I get the chance to work on a project similar to this I will push to make it more realistic looking using the blending tool to make sure it looks right.
